What Will I Look Like After Breast Augmentation?
Are you considering breast augmentation surgery? One of the things going through your mind, no doubt, has to be what you will look like after breast augmentation . The procedure involves serious expense and risk, so most women want to be as careful as possible in order to maximize their chances of getting the results they want.
It is important to note that there simply is no perfect method to envision what you will look like after the procedure. There are far too many variables involved, some of which your surgeon will not know until they start the operation. With that in mind, there are several tools on the market today that allow you to estimate not only how you will look, but also how you will FEEL after the procedure.
Methods To Determine How You Will Look After Breast Augmentation
The first, and perhaps most obvious method, is based upon visual observation of what other women look like after they have had the procedure. There are several large databases of breast augmentation before and after photos available on the internet. With these you can often find a woman of similar stature and age who has chosen to get breast implants similar to what you want.
Additionally there are now three-dimensional imaging devices used by some doctors which will estimate how your torso will look after breast augmentation. This is an incredible advance in technology but it is not without its flaws.
Certainly, it is important how you will look, but many women who have undergone breast augmentation will tell you that it is even more important to predetermine how you will FEEL with different breast sizes. Using before and after photos of breast implants and three-dimensional imaging devices simply cannot provide you with an experience of your new body with larger breasts.
Breast Implant Sizers
Tthere are a variety of breast implant sizing methods with which you can estimate your new breast size on your own body. While many surgeons today still recommend the ancient rice test, the method is highly inadequate and antiquated especially given the advances in modern medicine.
In this test you are supposed to fill a plastic bag with rice, oatmeal, or birdseed in a similar volume to that of a given breast implant size in cubic centimeters (for example: 300, 350, or 450cc's, etc.) This would work fine if implants were square like a plastic bag or if you could actually walk around comfortably for a few days with a bra full of birdseed. Unfortunately, many women find this experiment to be less than satisfying.
There are a few types of commercially available breast sizing systems which are definitely preferable to the rice bag test. Most are water based and fairly inexpensive. With these you can put a round plastic bag filled with water inside your bra so that you can stand in front of a mirror to see what various breast implant sizes will look like on your body. There is also a system that offers four sizes of rubbery Implant-like sizers. Unfortunately, each set comes with ONE sizer in each set. Moreover, you don'y have any choice about the four sizes. You may have narrowed it down to a size around 350cc's, but you have to buy everything from the smallest to the largest size in each set.
Using Purlz™ To Determine What My Body Will Be Like After BA Surgery
More recently the Purlz™ Breast Sizing System is available: a sewn product sized in cubic centimeters like breast implants. They are offerered in cubic centimeter sizes ranging from 200cc's to 2000 cc's. These sizers are comfortable to wear, durable and hand washable for extended trials. They can be worn discreetly under most clothing, and during most normal activities.
Perhaps the best way to approach the question of breast implant size is to start with before and after photos of breast augmentation to get an initial idea of the size change you want. Then choose a few sizes of Purlz™ Breast sizers to actually experience your initial breast size decisions. Preparation for your surgery is critical if you want to know how you will look and FEEL after breast augmentation. After all is said and done, you want to look in the mirror and be absolutely thrilled with the results of your procedure! You want to FEEL as good as you look, and you want to look fabulous!
